Frequently Asked Questions
Thank you for your interest in The Patterson. Below are the questions guests ask most often as they begin to imagine a gathering here. If your question is not answered below, we’d love to hear from you at info@thepattersonnola.com.
-
The estate has been designed to hold gatherings of five to five hundred. The right scale depends on the spaces used and the shape of your gathering — something we walk through together during your tour.
-
Six restored historic buildings and outdoor spaces across four acres. The buildings include Seaport Hall (the event hall), The Patrol House (the social house, with Fowl Play Bar and the Game Room), Quarter House (the six-suite boutique hotel), The Shop (the bridal lounge), and two back-of-house structures. The grounds include Commander's Garden, The Courtyard, The Landing, The Arbor, The Canopy Swings, The Cutting Garden, and more. The Paddock will welcome alpacas in 2027.
-
Yes. Seaport Hall, the Courtyard, Quarter House Hotel, and The Patrol House main floor are all ADA accessible. The Patrol House entrance has steps; we're glad to coordinate alternate access for guests who need it. Accessibility parking is designated close to event entrances.
-
Onsite parking includes dedicated spaces for vendors and accessibility needs, with ample street parking available behind the property. For gatherings with twenty or more drive-in guests, we develop a parking plan together and we're happy to help coordinate shuttles, valet, and Uber/Lyft vouchers.
-
The Patterson was built for gatherings of every shape. Wedding weekends, corporate buyouts, executive retreats, brand launches, milestone celebrations, rehearsal dinners, editorial and brand photography, private dinners, and creative gatherings of every kind.
-
Every gathering at The Patterson is a whole-property buyout. No other party shares the estate while you're here, no other event runs on the grounds, and no outside guests pass through the hotel. The four acres are yours from arrival to farewell — a different kind of privacy than a hotel ballroom or a shared venue can offer.
*Quarter House Hotel may be offered separately from the full estate on select dates that do not interfere with full estate gatherings. -
Exclusive use of the four-acre estate, all event buildings, the catering kitchen, high-speed internet, smart TVs, central climate, café string lights interior and exterior, gated access with personalized security code, an onsite coordinator and property manager, onsite security for larger gatherings, and onsite porter services for trash removal.
If overnight accommodations are part of your experience you also have access to Quarter House Hotel. It includes six suites with curated antiques, marble bathrooms, organic cotton sheets, organic soaps and lotions, and a private lounge with a fully stocked kitchen. -
Yes, Quarter House Hotel sleeps twenty across six suites, with check-in at 3:00 PM and check-out at 11:00 AM. The hotel is closed to outside guests for the duration of your gathering— no lobby, no strangers, only your people gathered close.

The Patterson was designed around unhurried estate stays. For destination weddings, retreats, and gatherings with guests traveling in, a three-night Estate stay gives the experience room to unfold — arrival, the gathering itself, and the morning after without feeling rushed.
It also gives guests time to experience the best of New Orleans: a dinner in the Quarter, a museum visit, music along Frenchmen Street. The estate feels like a world away, but offers easy access to the city.
Two-night Estate buyouts are also available for select gatherings, especially for New Orleans guests who do not need a full destination-style stay. Both two- and three-night Estate experiences include private use of the full property, including Quarter House Hotel, the event spaces, and the grounds.
Private Quarter House stays may also be offered on select dates based on the estate calendar. These stays include Quarter House Hotel and designated grounds only, not event use of Seaport Hall, The Patrol House, or The Shop.
Longer stays are something we're glad to offer when the gathering calls for it. Additional nights extend the experience without changing the rhythm of it.
-
No. The Patterson welcomes open caterer and vendor choice on all bookings. For those who would value guidance, we're glad to share our preferred vendor list and trusted recommendations. All licensed and insured vendors are welcome.
-
The Patterson abides by all City of New Orleans noise ordinances and provides permitting for live music and entertainment. Outdoor music concludes by 10:00 PM. For guests staying at Quarter House Hotel, music may continue indoors until 12:00 AM. The Patterson is not a venue for concerts, raves, or similarly modeled events.
-
Yes. Wedding ceremonies are included in both single-day and Estate buyouts — held beneath The Arbor, inside Seaport Hall, in Commander's Garden, on The Landing, or wherever the spaces lead you.
-
Both. A single-day wedding includes a full day on the estate with exclusive use of the property, the event buildings, and the support amenities that make the day feel effortless.
An Estate buyout holds the fuller arc — arrival, rehearsal dinner or welcome gathering, ceremony beneath the live oak, reception in Seaport Hall, and the slower morning after, with Quarter House Hotel sleeping twenty so the people closest to the gathering stay nearby. The ceremony is included with both. Most couples find that the multi-night Estate experience is what The Patterson was designed for, but the right shape depends on the gathering — something we walk through together during your tour.
-
For weddings, we require a planner at a minimum, month-of coordinator level. The onsite coordinator we provide is focused on the venue itself — overseeing property logistics from setup through teardown. For broader event design and full planning, we're glad to recommend planners from our list of trusted partners.
-
The Patterson includes exclusive use of the estate spaces included in your selected experience. Amenities include: event security, catering kitchen, open vendor flexibility, venue coordinator, on-site parking, WiFi, café string lights, and support spaces for getting ready, gathering, and hosting.
-
The Patterson offers ample interior space and natural weather-backup options within the estate itself. A tent and weather plan may be needed when a guest count exceeds indoor capacity — we help guide that decision and assist with tent coordination when needed.
-
Yes. All vendors are required to provide proof of insurance. Every gathering must carry event insurance listing The Patterson as additionally insured. We're glad to help you navigate this process.
-
A signed agreement and 50% deposit secure the date. The final balance is due 90 days before your gathering. Founding client pricing is reserved for dates secured in 2026, regardless of when the gathering itself takes place.
-
Yes. The Patterson offers a layered setting for family, editorial, engagement, and styled photography sessions.
Weddings booked at The Patterson may schedule bridal portraits prior to the wedding, based on availability.
The best way to understand what The Patterson offers is to see it in person. We would love to arrange a private tour for you — an opportunity to walk the property, experience the setting firsthand, and begin envisioning what your occasion could look like here.
