The Patterson is now a family-owned private estate, restored with care.
Joel & Lindsey had driven past this property for years, watching its vacancy continue. They dreamt about the possibilities, never believing it would one day be theirs to steward. In 2023, the opportunity arrived-they signed the paperwork just days after welcoming their fourth child.

Guests are not entering a property managed from afar. They are entering a place its owners have walked, studied, repaired, and loved back to life.
Restored with Intention
History
Built in 1931 as a U.S. Public Health Service Quarantine Station, the property was known as “New Orleans’ Newest Quarantine Station.” The commanding doctor would board the ships, inspect the crew as the ships sailed to the port, and any ill crew members would be ferried back to the quarantine hospital for care, while their cargo was being unloaded.
Originally spanning 10 acres across 8 city blocks, the site included 17 Colonial Revival-style buildings. It was described as a veritable city with luxurious, state-of-the-art amenities. As health care, shipping, and travel improved and evolved, quarantine stations became a thing of the past. Portions of the property were sold off over time and most of the buildings were demolished.
Nearly a century later, the remaining administrative buildings hold the character of their original purpose while making room for a new chapter.
A New Chapter
Today, The Patterson exists for intentional gatherings.
Across four acres, six historic buildings, layered gardens, and an intimate boutique hotel, the estate creates space for weddings, retreats, corporate programs, private celebrations, and the quieter moments that happen around them.
It is close to the city, but removed from its noise. Formal when the occasion asks for it, relaxed when the evening begins to loosen. Historic without feeling untouchable. Refined without being cold.
